My New Favorite Texas Oasis-Lively Beach

Hello friends! I cannot believe we have officially welcomed fall. Can you? This year has just flown by, and I’m grateful that as a family we were able to spend a little time at the beach to help close summer out. If you follow my blog, than you know that every summer we head south of San Antonio to the Corpus Christi and North Padre Island, Texas area. This year was extra special since our little family has grown from three to four! Although we were excited for a little weekend getaway, it was also important for us to social distance, and feel as safe as possible, so I was beyond excited to learn about these new resort style condominiums on Mustang Island called Lively Beach.

We enjoyed our stay so much at Lively Beach, that I can guarantee you we plan to make it a new family tradition. Not kidding when I say we literally have been raving to all of our family and friends about this very unique resort ever since we got back. We were so impressed, and couldn’t believe such a beautiful place exist right here in Texas just a few hours from San Antonio. I knew this immediately just by driving through the entrance to Lively Beach as we passed palm trees and sunflower fields along the way.

FTC: Lively Beach was nice enough to host my family and I for this stay, and offer my readers a discount code. Scroll to the bottom of the post for the discount code. All opinions and statements are my own.

I know many of us around the world have cancelled all our big trips this year due to the state of the world, so if you are in the Texas area, Lively Beach is just a road trip away, and a very safe experience. The resort offers touch-less check in, which means you can check in and out on your phone avoiding the lobby area entirely. There’s both a gate code and door code provided to you during the on-line check-in process, and the community is gated. All of this completely eased my mind. We visited in mid-September, so the property felt very peaceful which was an added bonus this time around, however I imagine this place will soon become very popular. Truthfully busy or not, the property feels very private, with no other hotels or condos nearby. You are surrounded by nature, literally, the property is an island within an island on 11 acres surrounded by another 35 acres in conservation. You feel secluded, but in reality you are just one minute from the main road, where are the restaurants and beach shops are, and only 21 miles from the Corpus Christi airport.  While walking around the property I just couldn’t get over how the resort is completely surrounded by wild sunflower fields. palm trees, and beautiful scenery.

We stayed in a one bedroom, two bath with a small balcony, and it was absolutely stunning. The condo is eco-friendly and very modern with an open concept.  For us as a family, we really appreciated the full kitchen and large dining table. The rooms are a really good mix of luxury and comfort. With several closet space fixtures, full length mirrors, tasteful décor and beautiful wall art, the space is very relaxing and inviting. Each accommodation has a separate comfort system resulting in great indoor air quality. The units are also 60% more energy efficient than traditional structures, and highly insulted to block out unwanted noise. Here’s a unit tour.

Yall know I’m a view chaser. Just look at some of the beautiful views from our condo. Views in every corner!

If those views aren’t already enough, the resort has two rooftop balconies that make you think you have transported to Mykonos, Greece! Lucky for us, one of the rooftops was just above our condo, so I made my way there several times to watch the sunrise and take photos. I suggest grabbing breakfast or a nightcap and heading on up!

We also took advantage of the resort style pool at Lively Beach. It’s the nicest pool I’ve seen in the entire North Padre/ Corpus Christi area. It’s open 24 hours a day. I mean how gorgeous is this pool? At night it’s lit up so beautifully too.

Another major advantage to staying at Lively Beach, is that you are literally right on the beach at Mustang Island State Park. The resort has it’s own private scenic dune boardwalk that leads you right on to the beach. This is extremely convenient so that you do not have to worry about packing up the car and driving on to the beach.  I truly enjoyed waking up early and taking a little morning stroll along the boardwalk to the beach. I found it to be quite peaceful. The wind in your hair, the sound of the waves, and the beautiful views in every direction. I experienced it alone and with my family. My son John who is four, found it very fun and interesting. It was rewarding to watch his face light up once he realized how close we were to the beach. These are memories we are creating together. Memories of walking from our bed straight to the beach. These are the types of experiences I look for when I travel. Experiences that leave a lasting impression, not just for me, but for my husband and kids as well.

If you aren’t familiar with Mustang Island State park. It’s a local favorite, and a beach that I have been visiting since I was a kid. I’ve always found this beach to be clean, family friendly, and less crowded then a few others in the area. We went to the beach each day we stayed at Lively Beach and enjoyed the perfect weather. Kites were flying, local fisherman were out at the pier, and we had our own little perfect set up just for us.

Audrey had just turned eight months, so compared to our last beach trip back in June, she was now old enough to actually sit up, play, and crawl in the sand. She loved it!

While staying at Lively Beach, if you decide to have a nice dinner out then I can highly recommend Snoopy’s Pier at Sunset Island, which is only three miles from Lively Beach. We visit every time we are in the area. Great seafood and even better sunsets!

To sum it up, Lively Beach is a Texas experience not to be missed. It is the new gem of South Texas in my eyes, a true island oasis just a few hours from Austin and San Antonio. If you live in the area, check it out while it still feels like summer, and as the temperature cools down by October, head there for a little weekend escape with the best atmosphere and views.

You can also use code PG9898 to get 5% off their best available rate at Lively Beach, so as an example, if the resort is having a grand opening special rate of 15% off, then with my code it’s an additional 5% off making it 20% off total for you. Yay! If you end up visiting Lively Beach, be sure to leave me a comment below. I’d love to hear about your experience. Also, my YouTube travel vlog for this trip will be up in a few days. Stay tuned!
