Happy New Year friends! Can you believe we made it to 2019! What a year 2018 has been! I don’t know about you, but I’m very excited for the new year. I’m excited to continue to experience, share, create and inspire not only on my blog, but on my YouTube Channel and Instagram account as well. I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for supporting my social media journey. As a new blogger and YouTuber it means a lot to me because I put a lot of time, energy, thought, and preparation in to each piece of content I create! So, I thought I would do something a little different this week and get a little personal by re-introducing myself, and how this blog came to be.
My name is Priscilla, and I am a new lifestyle blogger/vlogger by night, and Brand Manager by day. I blog about fashion, style, travel, and motherhood. I am born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I have lived in SA my entire life, and absolutely love exploring my city and sharing why I love it here so much. Fun fact: Did you know that San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the United States? Well it is! That’s a lot of ground to cover and I’m happy to do so! I consider myself very “Tex-Mex.” I love to dance and travel. I enjoy writing, taking photos, and reading financial articles. I hate coffee, traffic, and writers block!
If there was only time for one thing for me to share with you about my past, it’s that I sometimes feel like I lived an entire lifetime before I even started college. I say this because by the age of eight, I was basically a full-time singer/performer. I went to school like everybody else, but I had this whole other life outside of my academics. Singing and performing is all I dreamed about. While other 10-year-old kids were playing outside and going to birthday parties, I was at vocal lessons, giging, recording demos, and practicing at my home dance studio my Dad built me. I spent my weekends doing shows, sometimes multiple shows a day. I found my art extremely fascinating. To have the chance to sing and meet people from all over the world through the universal language of music was so fulfilling. As I got a little bit older, I spent my spring breaks touring and traveling the states performing. I’m proud to say that I’ve performed at least 2000 shows throughout my lifetime, and the majority of them were before the age of 21. My career in music has led me to almost every great opportunity in my life. That is how big of an impact it had on me.
Let’s fast forward a couple of years. If you are wondering whether I still sing and perform, the answer is yes! Just not in the same capacity. Instead of moving to Los Angeles after high school, I decided to get my Bachelors degree in San Antonio and pursue other goals of mine, one of which I am very proud of, and that’s winning the title of Miss San Antonio and going on to compete at the Miss Texas Pageant. This was a perfect job for me since I love my city so much! I also graduated, got my first “degree” job working at a news station, and eventually met the love of my life! As I mentioned earlier, I’m also a mother now, and I have to say that has been the most rewarding experience overall in my life.
All of these life experiences led me to this year in 2018, which I have to say has been another special year. It’s the year of my blog and YouTube channel launch. I’ve truly enjoyed this platform because, it serves as a way to share and document all my life experiences, while hopefully helping and inspiring others along the way.
So, what’s new for 2019? To be honest, this could be another big year for not only me, but my entire little family. My hubby and I have 90% decided this may be the year of baby #2. We go back and forth on whether or not to expand our family, or keep it just us three for a bit longer. Can anyone else out there relate? John and I are both full-time working parents, so adding more to our plate is a bit scary, but at the same time we know how rewarding it is on the other end! I’m also getting ready to start majorly researching our next big International trip (taking recommendations below)! The one resolution I have for 2019 is just to continue to grow and expand my blog and YouTube channel. It’s a work in progress, but I’m highly motivated I promise, and again I truly appreciate your support along the way!
So, I hope you learned a little bit about me. I would love to know a little a bit about you too! Comment below and let me know where you reside and what your resolution is for the year.
