The Texas Selfie Museum- San Antonio location

1…2…3 Let’s Selfie! If you are in the San Antonio area, I have a fun new Museum for you to check and out and explore. This past weekend I was invited to experience the newly opened Texas Selfie Museum in downtown San Antonio, and it was so fun! Some of you may have already seen my new google web story on my experience, but in case you missed it check it out here.

The Texas Selfie Museum…also known as the Original Selfie Museum…opened its doors to San Antonio late last year 2021. It’s located on the first floor of a beautiful building in downtown San Antonio. I spent about an hour there with John and the kids just exploring the different spaces and rooms. This museum is definitely a photographer and instagrammers dream!

Believe it or not, this was actually my first time ever experiencing any kind of Selfie Museum, and I have to say I totally get why they are so popular. It was so fun and versatile, something for everyone’s taste. The gold and pearls glam bathroom was by far one of my favorite photo opportunities here! You’ll see it right as you enter the museum to the left. Can’t get any more glam than this! Go ahead. Take your ensuite inspo from these pics. I know I am 😉

The Texas Selfie Museum is a great family friendly activity to do together. It’s stroller friendly, and because of all of it’s unique art spaces and fun props the kids will love it too. My son John who’s five now, had so much fun exploring and taking fun pics. He was really in to it, and I have to admit it was fun to get creative with his photos.

The Museum has two main areas with interactive spaces, plus several smaller rooms that you can walk in to. I appreciated that it wasn’t too packed at all. There were other duos and small groups in and out during the hour that we were there, but it was never overcrowded. I was able to take pictures in all the rooms that I wanted to with either little or no wait at all. Also, extra bonus points for ring lights and good lighting in all the spaces!

If you plan on visiting and doing some major picture taking or even full-blown photoshoots, you’ll be happy to know that the Museum does have both a bathroom and a stylish dressing room for quick changes. I myself did one change while I was there so that Audrey and I could take a girlie mommy daughter photo in the pink glam room! This is a great space for cute birthday photos!

Another room that seemed to be very popular at the Museum (and for good reason) is the mirror room. My son and I both loved it. The mirror illusions and light up balls are so interesting and photogenic.

I also have to give a shout out to the staff. They were super friendly and welcoming. As far as practical information, the Texas Selfie Museum is open daily. I would check their website for updated pricing. They also have a small gift store inside. As I already mentioned the San Antonio location is located downtown. So, if you are a tourist that’s great news for you because it’s basically near a lot of other popular attractions downtown. They have several locations throughout the states and if you are in the Austin area they are opening a new location there next month!
