The “terrible twos!” Myth or reality? Shall I brace myself now, and savor every moment until then? Should I start counting my blessings? I’ve heard horror stories and seen countless tantrum videos posted online. What should I expect? These are all questions that I asked myself over and over leading up to my son’s second birthday. It’s funny, because on the outside, everyone always thinks I have it completely under control (I’m a master of perception hehe), but the truth of the matter is that I had major anxiety about the dreaded “terrible twos.” For me, it was more of a “what would it be like to experience this in public” kind of thing, but you know what, I have some breaking news to share with you. Wait for it…..wait for it!
Happy New Year friends! Can you believe we made it to 2019! What a year 2018 has been! I don’t know about you, but I’m very excited for the new year. I’m excited to continue to experience, share, create and inspire not only on my blog, but on my YouTube Channel and Instagram account as well. I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for supporting my social media journey. As a new blogger and YouTuber it means a lot to me because I put a lot of time, energy, thought, and preparation in to each piece of content I create! So, I thought I would do something a little different this week and get a little personal by re-introducing myself, and how this blog came to be.
Tis the season! Can you believe just a few days ago we were celebrating Thanksgiving? Then Black Friday took over, and now it’s already Cyber Monday! I feel like the holidays always go by so fast, but that’s probably because of all the crazy busy fun we get to have….from decorating, to gift shopping, to all the Christmas traditions. One of my personal favorite Christmas traditions is decorating our tree! This is something I look forward to every year. I always have those few ornaments that are extra special, or just EXTRA if you know what I mean 😉 and of course, every year I also try to add a few new ones to the mix. I recently took advantage of some Black Friday sales and made a few ornament purchases. So, I thought I’d do a little ornament haul for you in case you need a little inspiration to decorate that gorgeous tree of yours! A few of these ornaments I’ve had for a few years, but luckily they have all been restocked for you. Enjoy!
It’s October!!! And that means fun fall activities, cooler weather, and spooky Halloween decorating! I happen to be a big fan of Halloween, and ever since my husband and I moved in to our home almost four years ago, I’ve been busy accumulating my Halloween decor. I decorate the usual fire-place mantle, front yard, and living room shelving however, this post is going to focus specifically on decorating one of the focal points of your home…your dining table! I love a well-decorated, well put-together dining table any day…and Halloween is no different! So, if you don’t know where to start, or maybe you just want a few new ideas to hold you over through all the Halloween parties you are hosting, I’m here to help you out! Oh, and the best part is that all these pieces below are more on the affordable side. A few of these pieces I’ve accumulated over the years (but have been restocked for you) and several of these pieces I just got this year (yes, I’m stepping up my game)! So let’s get started!
Hello friends! If you’ve decided to do some decorating this year for fall, but you don’t know where to start or what to focus on, don’t you worry I’ve got you covered! While I do love decorating my front entrance and fire mantle for holidays, this post is going to focus on one of the main gathering spots in most homes….the dinner table! There’s nothing I love more then a well put together and show-stopping dinner table setting. So, if you desire all the oohs and awws from your house guests, I’m here to help you out. Let’s get started!
“A room full of lights all to ourselves for 60 seconds!”
Last week my little family and I spend a beautiful Sunday exploring the McNay Art Museum. It had been years since I had been there. In fact, the last time was freshman year of College for an extra credit project, and before that was for a photoshoot! So yes, I guess you could say this was my first time really exploring this beautiful place in its entirety as an adult, and I’m so glad I got to experience the day with my husband and son!
“It’s like a small jungle oasis in the middle of a busy city!”
The Japanese Tea Gardens are an extension of Sunken Gardens, and located right next to the San Antonio Zoo. I love this place! I truly feel like it’s one of those hidden gems that most tourists do not know about, and many locals forget about. This is possibly because over the years it’s seen a significant restoration by the city. In fact, at one point I remember thinking it was closed to the public, although I don’t think that ever really was the case. I recently spent a morning exploring the beautiful Gardens, so in this post, I will feature some of the best parts of the park not to be missed!
I remember the first time you looked up at me after you were placed in my arms. It was at that moment looking in to your beautiful eyes that I knew, you knew, I was your mama, and just like that our journey together began.
Who am I?
Just a local girl living the dream in San Antonio, Texas!
Yup, I’m a San Antonio native who loves exploring my beautiful city. I’ve lived here my entire life and yet I’m always discovering new places to eat, pictures to take, experiences to be had… and I hope to inspire you do the same in your home city!
